A covered core requires its own specification

The cover protects the internal load-bearing core, but it is not a substitute for correct selection and inspection. State the load geometry, connection arrangement and environmental conditions when requesting a round sling. For repeat purchases, provide the existing label information and required effective working length. The quoted cover and core construction must match the accepted specification. A colour or photograph cannot confirm the construction or the condition of the internal core.

Prepare a comparable lifting-sling quotation

Send the required working load limit, effective working length, lifting arrangement and contact surfaces together. A product name or colour alone does not identify a rated sling. State the destination market, required identification and documents, sample quantity and production quantity. Where a drawing controls the purchase, include the eye dimensions, webbing width and any protection. JILI reviews the configuration before issuing a quotation; the written offer identifies the supplied construction, marking, packing, lead time and applicable documents. The lift must be assessed separately using the accepted product instructions and competent lifting practice.
